Digest Quest is a FREE, interactive, online, curriculum-based game that guides grade 5 students through the function and components of the digestive system. Students love the silly sound effects and catchy graphics, which come together to create a fun and engaging learning experience. Materials to support the effective use of Digest Quest in the classroom are found below and include student assessment opportunities.
Part one of Digest Quest introduces students to the structure and function of the digestive system and includes classroom activities to reinforce learning. Part two has students navigating the digestive system in an arcade-style game. To advance through the game students must answer creatively written multiple-choice questions that test students' understanding of the digestive organs.
Whether you have access to only one computer or an entire computer lab, Digest Quest is an invaluable tool that can be used as an introduction to the digesive system, a culminating activity or a complete unit on its own.
